Normal Kidney Tissues
| The kidney is normally surrounded by fat and is a lobated organ. It too has a smooth surface and may contain some red discoloration as seen in these photos due to areas of congestion. On cut surface you will notice that there seems to be two layers. The outer layer is called the cortex and the inner is called the medulla.
